Abstract

Recent works on Ubiquitous computing research underline the necessity of designing adaptative user interfaces that integrate resources such as video, voice, chat, application sharing, white board and brainstorming so as to adequately address the various needs of contextual training. The present paper proposes a learning and teaching environment based on telepresential technologies and web services, supporting on line laboratory environments. We create different pedagogical scenarios based on collaborative strategies and appropriate resources to generate and manage distributed intelligent and adaptative teletraining environments. Such scenarios permit synchronous transactional and interpersonal interactions among actors involved in e-learning and e-teaching processes. The groupware ECHO, developed in our research program, is used to validate our proposed Collaboratory Ubiquitous environment.. The architecture of ECHO, based on Web services technology, guarantees the interoperability required in optimally exploiting and managing online laboratories.
