Abstract

The purpose of this multimedia project is to create a mnemonic strategy that streamlines the sixth grade mathematics curriculum. The product is intended for all students, including those with limited English speaking skills and special needs and combines eight standards that focus on solving proportions, ratios, and equivalent fractions. It is designed to be an instructional tool for teaching, practice, remediation and enrichment, in a sixth grade mathematics classroom. Created in Macromedia Director, the application combines Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) strategies with principles of interactive media to provide an instructional tool to be used in and out of the classroom.
