Abstract
This paper explores the concept of Network Computing as the educational computing model of the future. In it we address the state of technology in today's educational environment including the concepts of total cost of ownership, how the network computer will help schools realize their goals as they relate to technology and the how this model will transform the teaching and learning process. Also discussed are the factors that prevent these changes from occurring within the restraints of the current computing model.
