
How Educational Technology Tools Can Solve Challenges In Teaching An Online Finance Course?

Abstract
This paper deals with the use of educational technology tools to overcome the unique challenges in teaching online finance courses. The challenges of teaching an online finance course are not knowing who the target audience is, students do not the concepts at the first instance of teaching, long time required to design the course, preparing PPTs from the exam point of view and providing in-depth knowledge in a concise way. Focus group was used to find features that are required in online learning resources for teaching finance, factors hindering the teaching and difficulties in mimicking the physical classroom. A SWOT analysis of tools and learning resources, review of e-learning platforms assisted in the identification of suitable educational technology to create effective learning resources. Most effective educational technology tools for teaching finance are bloom’s taxonomy, constructivist model, video creation tools and webinars to overcome the challenges of teaching the finance
