Abstract

With the rapid progress of technology, it is feasible to incorporate multimedia into online classrooms. Becoming an imperative component in the classrooms, multimedia provides fascinating opportunities for learners to meet their educational needs. Appropriate use of multimedia leads to a positive impact on student’s learning experience. Based upon the social presence theory, multimedia should be used and presented in different forms to engage learners from the beginning to the end of the course. Especially, personalized the multimedia with the educator’s own voice and words in a conversational style could result in an increase in learner’s interest that, further, promotes learner’s active cognitive process of information. Subsequently, deeper learning is manifested.
