Abstract

This paper describes a video based online discussion system. The system has been implemented for the topic of IT classroom management in a training course of introductory Information Communication Technologies. Students were given video footage to view and discuss about the different aspects of IT classroom management online. The facility of book marking, writing comments and conducting threaded discussion on particular episodes in the video proved to be a very reliable source of understanding of ones thinking pattern. Online discussion, its summarization and student's self-reflection allows student to visualize his/her own learning process and episodes. In the evaluation survey students made positive comments on the usefulness of the system particularly in learning from each other's comments.
