Abstract

Hampton University pre-service teachers are engaged in Project Tilda designed to raise K-12 student performance through more effective use of technology. Seven steps will be identified to understand what student performance data is gathered and how quantifiable outcomes should inform practice. Classroom observations and analysis of specific Virginia Standard of Learning (SOL) items indicate that e-learning strategies need to be introduced early to:Align use of technology with Virginia Standards of Learning, Identify quantifiable student-centered learning activities, and; Deploy technology assets effectively to increase levels of student engagement and achievement.
