Abstract
when the 2015 Revised Education Curriculum will be applied, all of the elementary and middle school students in Korea will mandatorily receive programming education. Research on effective learning of programming is currently under active progress as an important issue. In programming education, learner is the most important learning element. Diverse results can come out according to learners even in case of applying identical education contents, goals, teaching and learning methods, etc. Hence, learner-centered education that respects learners’ individuality and reflects individual variation among the learners is required for effective programming education. Students can experience diverse learning through programming language that was designed for education and this is expanding the concept of programming education. This research examined the learners’ characteristics and concept of programming education from an aspect of multiple intelligence theory
