Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to detail the collaborative efforts currently underway to prepare social studies teachers to learn to teach historical inquiry through using a multimedia tutorial. The paper discusses (a) the current state of teaching historical inquiry (b) the rationale, design, structure and resources used in the development of the SCIM–C Multi Media tutorial (see Figure 1), and (c) key findings with regard to its utility to prepare social studies teachers to use technology in the classroom as a tool to facilitate the teaching of historical inquiry.
